Ph.D. in Health Services - Health Promotion and Education
The Health Promotion and Education Specialization serves students interested in providing leadership in health promotion and education in settings such as:
- Communities
- Schools
- Work sites
- Clinics
- Government agencies
- Not-for-profit organizations
The specialization prepares students to provide leadership in the planning and administration of health promotion and education programs, and leadership in conducting evaluative research on the effectiveness of those programs. The specialization combines KAM-based learning and electronically delivered, course-based learning in the foundational social and behavioral sciences, and electronically delivered, course-based learning in the advanced specialization courses. Both approaches together provide a comprehensive range of health promotion competencies.
Ph.D. in Public Health - Community Health Education and Promotion
By combining research skills with a deep understanding of the medical, social, ethical and economic factors that affect a community’s well-being, you’ll be able to develop effective solutions to significant public health problems. With a theory-to-application model and a diverse network of experienced faculty and students, this program will prepare you to influence social policy and empower citizens in our global community.Please note: Students may be admitted with a bachelor’s degree and will earn an M.S. in Public Health as part of the program of study.
