The transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy offers an opportunity to complement current knowledge and skills with advanced content designed to promote a high-level of competence and autonomy. Boston University’s transitional DPT program is open to students with a minimum of a 3.0 entry-level GPA from an accredited academic PT program and US licensure as a Physical Therapist.

Doctor of Physical Therapy
The transitional D.P.T. program is designed for practicing physical therapists already holding a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree who wish to enhance their skills and professional status. The length of each student’s program of study depends upon their current level of education, experience, and skills as defined by the American Physical Therapy Association’s “Normative Model of Physical Therapist Professional Education, Version 2000” and a possible evaluation using the Physical Therapist Evaluation Tool (PTET).
