Fielding’s PhD program in Clinical Psychology received APA accreditation in 1991. Today, it is the only distributed learning model accredited by the APA. Students may pursue the generalist PhD degree or select from one of Fielding’s four elective concentrations: health psychology, neuropsychology, prevention and control of violence, or parent-infant mental health.
The format of the doctoral program allows for intensive, face-to-face contact at local cluster meetings, clinical and research sessions, psychological assessment labs and national sessions. Online forums and electronic library services deepen the interactions between students and faculty, and reduce the geographical barriers in a distributed educational program.
